Profile

Michael Sabatini, P.E. – Process Engineer, Owner – Michael Sabatini has 20+ years’ experience in process engineering consulting for petrochemical type facilities.  Throughout his career, he has worked with engineering and operations for a multitude of production company clients to improve operability and safety for new and existing facilities.  Experience early on with overpressure analysis allowed for many hours studying existing facilities, analyzing all processes to ensure that the facility was protected against excessive overpressure which can lead to vessel rupture and hazardous fluid release.

He has found that transparency is the key to process safety consulting.  An engineer must know the API codes related to safety and which aspects are required or recommended.  Before an owner-operator makes expensive safety upgrades to an existing facility which may also include downtime, they will want to understand why they should do so and the risks they are taking by ignoring the issue.  The applicable design codes and best engineering practices are continually changing over time so it is important to stay up to date on the API codes and others as well as calculation methodologies and simulation software.

Devin Manning, E.I. – Process Engineer – Devin Manning has over 7 years of experience in process engineering across upstream oil and gas, pharmaceutical industries. Working across both offshore and onshore environments, he has supported engineering and operations teams on a wide range of projects including detailed pharmaceutical plant design, relief system design, PSV sizing, surge analysis, and process simulation. A background rooted in relief valve sizing and overpressure analysis, spanning deep-water topsides facilities to refinery flare systems, has built a strong foundation for ensuring facility safety and regulatory compliance.
